I have made several crafts this weekend. I love having the time to craft. It makes me feel like I have actually accomplished something.
First I made a birthday outfit for my cousin's little girl. She turned 5 and had a princess party. Oh what a princess she is so I made her a shirt, a tutu, a flower pin for her shirt and a hair bow. It really did turn out cute.
Then I made our new puppy an adorable little princess outfit to wear to the party. Then I couldn't leave her brother out, who my sister owns, so I made him a matching outfit. They were so freaking cute!
I have two baby showers to go to in a few weeks so I made some things for them too. They are both having boys. I made each of them a bib, a onsey, and a pacifier holder. I still have a few things to make/get.
Yesterday I had to make the centerpiece from the Tiger den for the banquet tonight. They are going to raffle them off and try to raise money. Our den chose to make an edible centerpiece. It is a Tiger hat, made out of cake, with star cookie pops with the Tiger's edible pictures on them, and edible paw prints around the hat. It turned out really cute. I hope we make a lot of money with it.

My baby is growing up! :-(
I was sitting in church yesterday looking at Tevon sitting in my Mom's lap and I got to looking at him, like really looking. He has three missing teeth right now, which makes 6. He has grown so much this year and gotten so tall. He just seems so grown up. I love that my baby is growing but at the same time it breaks my heart. I know, especially with boys, that there is only so much time that they are allowed to be your babies, and mine seems to be going by so fast. I am so proud of the young man he has become but just wish that it would never end. I live to be a parent to my little baby, who is not so little anymore.
The race is on!
Cub Scouts has an annual Pinewood Derby race. Basically, you get a block of pine wood and you have to carve it into a race car. You add weights and a design. Pretty much you work really hard to make the "perfect" race car for about two minutes worth of fun.
Well since I have done every other Scouting event and since this has been the only thing my husband has been interested in since Tevon joined Scouts, I let them do it together. All I heard about for months was this dang car.
They (aka mostly my husband) finish this car. Well the car had to sit completely still on my kitchen counter, or also known as the safest spot, for weeks. Tevon stared at this car dying to play with it. One day I just let him play with it, thought what could it hurt. I thought my husband was going to have a coronary when he came home and seen it bouncing off the baseboards up and down the hallways. I thought it was cute! So back on the counter it went.
Finally race day came. It was the event of the year, you would have thought. You could feel the excitement in the air at home.
When we arrived he had to go through inspection. Oh, did I tell you that it had to be a certain size and weight too? Lol! Then once they were approved, they could put their car in the "pit", receive a Driver's License and wait for the race to begin.
I was quite impressed with the set up they had. There was an "official" Pinewood Derby track that had a system that read who won in what order at the finish line. Pretty neat.
Needless to say, all that work, and having to listen to the physics of it for so long and Tevon placed second. Which is still good, but you don't get a trophy so it mine as well be last to him. Lol!
The funniest part about it was after the "official" race was over, all the kids were playing and racing their cars. Tevon won every single time. He beat the whole pack, not just his den, including the kid that won. Lol! You should have seen my husbands face. I guess all the hoopla before was worth it for that. Lol!

Happy Valentines Day Bubby!
Dear Tevon,
Being your mother has been the most wonderful gift anyone could ever give me. I am so glad that God chose me to be your mother.
Everyday you give me a reason to be so proud of you. You are so smart and so thoughtful. You surprise me everyday with how much you learn.
You are growing up so quickly! I cannot believe you are 6 years old. It doesn't seem like that long ago I was dressing you in a "My First Valentines" shirt and bib.
I want you to remember each and everyday that I am blessed to be your mommy and I love you very much.
I promise to love you no matter what you do. I promise to continue to help you learn and grow. I promise to continue to protect you from everything I can, yet introduce you to the things you need.
Happy Valentines Day to my best friend and wonderful son! Continue making Mommy proud.
Love,
Mommy

Easy, ADORABLE, Valentines!
I made the cutest little Valentines for my son to hand out to his friends at school. It is something different then the usual candy, plus what kid does not LOVE marshmallows.
First you take a marshmallow and place it on the end of a candy stick.
Then you dip it in chocolate or candy coating. I used strawberry flavored candy coating.
Then while the coating is still wet, twirl the coating in the sprinkles, allowing it to stick.
Add a little plastic to cover, a ribbon to close and an adorable little tag and viola, easy, ADORABLE, Valentines! I made my tags by stamping the design in red ink on card stock and add a little glitter glue. Quick, easy and cute.
This would also be really cute in whatever color you want for a party. You could use a block of floral foam covered in tissue or paper as a stand.
I buy all my floral foam from the Dollar Tree for $1.00. It is so expensive anywhere else.

Happy Valentines Day to my husband!
I made these beautiful roses to add some red decorations at my husbands request. Actually it is part of his Valentines Day present. Good thing he never reads my blog. Lol!
First you need two large t-shirts in whatever color you want. You need shirts without a design or at least a minimal design.
Cut the t-shirt in strips about an inch wide, width ways going up the shirt. Then cut both ends so that you have two strips.
Fold the strip long ways in half. Roll the end a few times so that you make the center of the rose.
Then you just sorta turn and fold the strip outwards as you turn.
You keep turning and folding until you have about a half-inch of the strip left. You use this at the bottom of the rose to hold it all together. Just dab a little glue (I used hot glue) on the bottom of the rose and fold over the end.
Then take a sewing pin and push it through the rose and into a floral ball.
For my project a used an old foam kids basketball that my son hadn't played with in a while, a red t-shirt that my sister had, and bought an old red t-shirt from the Peddlers Mall for $0.50. Then for the base I used a bleach wipes container and spray painted it black. I had bought the ribbon some time back really cheap and had been saving it. So for $0.50, and some things I had around the house I made this beautiful red kissing ball that looks like real flowers.
When I get done with the whole decorating project For my husbands Valentines Day present, I will post pictures.
(I use mobile Blogger, and if I ever figure out how to post my pictures where I want them and in the order I want them, I will, but until then, sorry.
:-( You'll just have to piece it together.)
