Finally a day to rest!
Today we are doing a whole lot of nothing! Sitting by the pool, relaxing! Well until I have to go to a Tupperware party later. Sometimes it's nice just to sit back and watch Tevon play!

Cub Scouts
This past week I didn't get to do any blogging because we were at day camp for Cub Scouts all week. And let me tell you when I got home, I was exhausted. It was a lot of fun. The boys were hilarious. I love to watch them as they learn new things and get excited when they realize what they learned. They learned lots of new things this week and earned lots of belt loops, patches, and I believe pins. I can't wait until they get all of the awards at recognition night at the end of the summer.
Saturday morning we left to go on a family camping trip with our Cub Scout pack. There were 5 families camping. It was a lot of fun. We camped at Jellystone and that place was really nice. You can camp with a tent, bring an RV or rent a small cabin. Lots of things to do. They have activities scheduled about once an hour. I highly recommend it to anyone!
Sunday, we got up early, cooked breakfast and then left. We stopped at this mystery house thing. It was pretty neat. Especially since it only costs $1 per adult, $0.50 for children. The floors are slanted pretty steep, so you have trouble walking, but it looks like your walking sideways. It had water running "uphill", balls that would roll "uphill", all because of the slant of the floor. Whew, it would make you dizzy. It was fun!
Then we went canoeing. It was a lot of fun. I'm exhausted today, and a little sore from everything but Tevon had a great time and Michael had a fun adventure for Father's Day.
Time to get things back to normal!

Happy 7th Birthday!
Dear Tevon,
Today is your 7th birthday! It's hard to believe that you are already 7. The years really have gone by fast. I guess that's what happens when you are having fun.
Seven years ago today I was holding you in my arms and staring into your beautiful face. I had fallen in love with you more than I ever thought possible, the moment I first saw you. I never wanted to let you go. I held you while you slept, I held you while you ate. I just loved being a mother from the very moment I became a mother.
Every year on your birthday you grow so much, and I love you more and more everyday.
You are a very special child. You are so smart, and funny. You love life and are full of energy. God could not have blessed me with a better child. I am so thankful that I have you in my life.
I hope you enjoyed your birthday as much as I enjoyed watching you today. You had so much fun with your cousins in the pool at Nana and Papa's house.
We are so thankful for everyone that came to celebrate you. Nana, Papa, Mamaw, Papa Mike, Pop, JoAnn, Aunt Chrissy, Keith, Aunt Brandie, Aunt Alicia, Uncle Artie, Lance, Karrah, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Cole and of course me and Michael! We are also thankful for the birthday wishes from all your friends!
Love,
Mommy

Bernheim Forest
Yesterday Tevon and I met up with his 1st grade teacher, her husband and their three adorable kids. When I taught preschool while the regular teacher was on maternity leave, I had her daughter in my class, so I could wait to see my Silly Lilly.
We went to Bernheim Forest and the kids got to play on the playground, we had lunch together then there was an art exhibit that looked like a giant stick maze at the visitors center, so we ran around there for a while. Lilly and Lacy both held my hands as we ran around. It was so cute! We took turns hiding somewhere in the maze and the others finding the hider. It was so cute to see their faces when they were found. Lacy would put her finger up and make the sshh gesture but with no sound. It was adorable. She really is a great hider though, she stays nice and quiet and doesn't get scared at all.
I wish I got a picture of all four of them together. Maybe next time!
It was so great seeing them all again. I think I could just run away with all three of their kids. They are so adorable and well behaved. I think they might miss them though.
They are moving away in July so hopefully we will get to see them again before they move and hopefully we can stay in touch and have lots of visits.

Road Trip to Kansas!!!!!
Last week Me and Tevon got to go with my husband on one of his business trips to Kansas City, Kansas. It was supposed to be about a 9 hour drive and it took us like 11 hours or so to get out there. Tevon and my husband had to stop and pee like a thousand times between the two of them.
We didn't book a hotel before we left but I had one picked out online and luckily they had a room. The hotel was brand new and was super nice. The pool had a hot tub and a slide from the second floor. We couldnt have asked for a nicer hotel. the hotel was also right beside a NASCAR track. Good thing there wasn't a race going on!
Since his company rented a can for us to take and he was driving it to and from the job site, I made sure the hotel was close to attractions for me and Tevon to do during the day that we could walk to.
We got to the hotel late on Tuesday night so we just relaxed and went to bed.
On Wednesday we got up and swam for a little bit. For lunch we went to the T-Rex Cafe. It was a lot of fun. After lunch they had a huge sand box where he could "dig" for dinosaur bones. Then we went through a mining cave and saw precious stones. After he got board with that we made a T-Rex and the Build-a-Dino and of course, named him Alex. After all that we were ready to go back and swim.
On Thursday we got up and swam for a while again. I think Tevon was a fish in another life. Lol! Then we had lunch at Cheeseburger in Paradise (Jimmy Buffet's restaurant) and went shopping. They had an outdoor mall that had 1.1 million square feet of retail space. Mostly outlet shops! I was in heaven!!!
The furniture store was probably as big as St. Matthews Mall. It was huge!
After shopping we got a frozen yogurt smoothie and went back to go swimming again.
On Friday, Tevon was able to swim for a few minutes before we left. Another 11-12 hour day on the road.
We got home late but had a great time!
