I made these beautiful roses to add some red decorations at my husbands request. Actually it is part of his Valentines Day present. Good thing he never reads my blog. Lol!
First you need two large t-shirts in whatever color you want. You need shirts without a design or at least a minimal design.
Cut the t-shirt in strips about an inch wide, width ways going up the shirt. Then cut both ends so that you have two strips.
Fold the strip long ways in half. Roll the end a few times so that you make the center of the rose.
Then you just sorta turn and fold the strip outwards as you turn.
You keep turning and folding until you have about a half-inch of the strip left. You use this at the bottom of the rose to hold it all together. Just dab a little glue (I used hot glue) on the bottom of the rose and fold over the end.
Then take a sewing pin and push it through the rose and into a floral ball.
For my project a used an old foam kids basketball that my son hadn't played with in a while, a red t-shirt that my sister had, and bought an old red t-shirt from the Peddlers Mall for $0.50. Then for the base I used a bleach wipes container and spray painted it black. I had bought the ribbon some time back really cheap and had been saving it. So for $0.50, and some things I had around the house I made this beautiful red kissing ball that looks like real flowers.
When I get done with the whole decorating project For my husbands Valentines Day present, I will post pictures.
(I use mobile Blogger, and if I ever figure out how to post my pictures where I want them and in the order I want them, I will, but until then, sorry.
:-( You'll just have to piece it together.)
